Oxford Blocks DA3692 Daiso Truck Building Block Set Review

Hey brick fans!

This is a review of my first ever Oxford Blocks set.  It's the Daiso truck that is part of the Oxford Blocks Town series.  I picked this little set up from the Daiso in Hongdae, Seoul, South Korea in September 2025.

As you can see on the front of the box, the set costs 5000 won and has 82 pieces.  5000 won is approximately $5 CDN dollars or about $3.5 USD.  That makes it comparable to the Lego compatible vehicles you can get at some Dollar Tree stores.

Daiso is a Japanese discount chain which is also making inroads in South Korea.

This little set features a small delivery truck with a delivery minifigure and a blue handtruck as an accessory.  I used Google translate for the image captions on the back of the box.  The left side caption says "The vehicle's rear trunk door opens left and right".  The right side caption says "You can move your luggage in the trunk using a cart".

All of the other blurb underneath is safety information such as "keep away from fire, don't put it in your mouth. etc, etc."

The korean characters basically say Daiso Truck on the side of the box.   Let's review whats inside the box.

Cracking open the box, we get two bags of parts with an instruction sheet.  A sticker sheet is included in one of the bags.

This is all the pieces in the set.  The brick feel and quality of these Oxford blocks reminds me of early Sluban bricks.  I'm wondering if Oxford bricks are all like this or if this is a lower tier set of bricks used for this discount set.  The wheels are hard plastic.  The sticker sheet has a model number of DA3692, so that's what I'll use to reference this set.

The instructions page consists of 12 steps which doesn't include the construction of the minifigure and the accessory.

This is page 2 of the instruction sheet.

The minifigure definitely resembles a Sluban minifigure.  There's no printing on the figure but you do get a shirt sticker to place on his torso.

You basically build the truck chassis, the box and the cab.

The truck is 6 studs wide but really short in length.

The rear doors can open and close.

With room to store the hand truck and other parcels.

I'll probably replace the wheels with Lego compatible ones and lengthen the truck in the future.

I plan on building a Daiso shop and using the stickers for signage, so they won't be going onto the truck.

Here's a screen grab of the front of a Daiso store for reference for my future modular building.

Summary

I bought this Oxford blocks set to see what the brick quality was like and it felt like a lower tier brand of bricks was used.  I hope that the larger Oxford block sets are more comparable to Lego quality bricks.  Anyways, I wasn't expecting too much for a $5 dollar set.  Look for a Daiso store coming to my not Lego city in the near future.

What do you think? Is the set worth $5 CDN  or $3.50 USD?   Let me know in the comments below.
Thanks for looking, bye for now!
