About the set

It's called a camping tent, but it looks more like a small A frame house to me.  It features a large glass walls on two sides of the building and a pop out extension on one side and a covered porch on the other.

Based on the size, I would say that the camping set is Lego compatible.  The blocks will work with other building block sets and the tent house appears to be minifigure scale, even though minifigures are not included with the set.

You can find the JMBricklayer 20111 Camping Tent for sale on their Amazon shop and their website.

Unboxing

Here's a look at the box which features a picture of the set and some details on the cover.

Here's what's inside:  There are two large numbered bags, 1 and 2 as well as a smaller bag containing the transparent windows, door, and door frames.  Also included is 1 16x16 baseplate, a lighting brick, the instruction manual and a bonus post card.  I can see that an orange brick separator is included in bag #1.

The post card features an illustration of the camping tent with two people sitting outside on camp chairs and enjoying some beverages.

The set also comes with this light strip with battery brick.  I tested it to make sure that it works.

A thin 23 page instruction booklet is included.  It is broken down into two sections that correspond to each of the numbered bags, with a total of 124 steps to build the camping tent.

Section 1

Here we will be building the base of the camping tent, some landscaping and the two a framed glass walls and door.

The contents of bag #1 consists of some loose parts and three smaller parts bags.

I've just opened up all three bags and dumped them onto the table.

First we build all the accessories for the set.

The set includes three realistic looking camping chairs, a firepit, and a camping table with a teapot, a basket, and some containers.

Wow, this is not camping, it's glamping.  There's a nice sofa and table with two speaker stands and 2 pieces of artwork on the wall (printed pieces, I might add).   I'm wondering if that tile on the floor represents a yoga mat?

I built the second glass wall and added some flowers and a trash can.  The dark green flower stems don't really clutch that well.

The glass door comes printed with the words Welcome home.  Recall that these glass pieces were packaged separately to prevent scratching.

Section 2

Moving on the next section, which consists of adding the roof/wall panels and building out the extension.

Pictured above are the contents from bag #2 with  three smaller bags inside and more loose parts.

And here's everything dumped out.

The first of two wall panels are built.

And here's the second.  They are hinged at the top of the roof.

I placed the battery box and installed the lighting before adding the second wall structure.

Now we have attached the other wall and the porch overhang which can be displayed opened or closed.

The camping tent extension isn't accessible from the inside of the main living space, so access is provided via a swing door.  There's what appears to be a small computer on the floor.

I was surprised that a minifigure can actually stand up inside the extension with room to spare.

Covered porch is minifigure approved.

Front entrance looks accessible as well.

The JMBricklayer Camping Tent 20111 is a cute little set that is Lego and minifigure compatible.  It even comes with a light strip for an extra nice effect.  It was easy to assemble and would make a nice campsite display.  The only drawback is that the set doesn't come with any minifigures, so you will have to provide your own.   And bring some sleeping bags too while you're at it.
