Hey brick fans!
I don't have too many Lego compatible military sets, so I was really curious
when LesDiy offered to send this US Military C-2 Transport Aircraft building
block set for me to review. According to the description on the LesDiy
website, the plane is 1/35 in scale and is an authorised MOC from designer
handsolo.
This C-2 Greyhound Transport Aircraft MOC Building Block Set is inspired by
the carrier-based transport aircraft currently in service with the U.S. Navy.
First taking flight in the 1960s, the C-2 Greyhound was purpose-built for
fleet logistics and supply missions, transporting personnel, mail, and vital
cargo between aircraft carriers and shore bases. Here are some pics I
found from a
website called Skytamer.com.
The pics show a C-2A Greyhound but it looks similar to the C-2 version.
Nicknamed the “air bridge of the carrier,” Handsolo's model faithfully
captures the aircraft’s distinctive features — twin-engine turboprop layout,
broad wings, high-mounted tail, and reinforced landing gear. Intricate details
such as markings, propellers, and fuselage doors enhance authenticity,
offering builders an immersive and educational experience that reflects the
aircraft’s critical role in naval operations.
Includes 2,566 precision-molded pieces with smooth textures, accurate colors,
and a perfect fit for a sturdy, stable assembly. The QR-code instructions
provide a seamless, step-by-step building experience that boosts creativity
and technical skill. Once complete, the model makes an impressive display
piece, ideal for aviation fans, military modelers, and collectors.
Thanks again to LesDiy for sending me the set to review!
LesDiy is
a Hong Kong-based toy company founded in 2014 that designs and sells custom
building block sets, particularly MOCs (My Own Creations), in collaboration with
independent designers. They are known for offering alternative, LEGO-compatible
bricks at a fair price and focus on quality and high-quality materials. The
company works with hundreds of designers to bring their MOCs to a wider
audience.
On LesDiy.com, the C-2 Transport Plane retails for $179.99.

Unboxing
The C-2 Transport Plane comes in the signature white LesDiy box with a
picture of the set glued to the front of the box. As it says 2566
pieces, the US Military C-2 Transport Aircraft is rated for builders ages 16
and up.
Upon opening the box, we find several unmarked parts bags, a service card and
a QR code for the instructions. On the LesDiy website, the set
listing indicated that it came with stickers, but I wasn't sure if they were
actually included or not. After I reached out to LesDiy, they promptly
sent me the sticker sheet for the plane, so no worries if you have missing
parts, just reach out to LesDiy and they will make things right.
Here's the giant sticker sheet which I will discuss later in the review.
Unpacking the box, I found 12 bags of assorted parts.
I scanned the QR code and it took me to a google drive where I could
download the instructions which were in PDF format.
I reviewed the instructions before beginning the build and they looked to be
clear and concise, despite not having any numbered sections. There
are a total of 494 pages/steps.
The Build Process
So I started my build process by going through each of the bags and sorting
all the parts by colour. I had a huge pile of light gray bricks, white
bricks, black bricks and dark gray bricks. There were some other
coloured parts in red, blue and transparent bricks. I then sorted each
of the batches of bricks into similar parts, such as tiles, plates, round
pieces, etc. This took me a better part of two days bfeore any
building could begin.
The instructions started by building the fuselage. There is an interior
cabin with lots of rear facing seats, 12 to be exact. They look
like they are minifigure scale, but I didn't test it out.
The next part of the build focused on the cockpit and nose of the aircraft. The
instrument gauges are actually printed pieces which is a nice surprise.
There are seats for the pilot and copilot.
Here's some more pictures of the fuselage taking shape. Between the
cockpit and the cargo hold seats, there are two storage compartments. At
the rear is a hinged ramp that works.
Adding the walls of the fuselage was a bit repetitve and tedious but I was
surprised at how sturdy it was when assembled. I could basically lift the
whole thing with one hand and nothing was loose or fell off. Impressively
designed.
The next part of the build process was constructing the top of the fuselage and
assembling the wings and fins.
Ok, I spoke too soon. this piece kept falling off as I was working on the wings.
We then built the landing gear and the housing underneath the wings.
Flipping the wings back and ready to attach to the main fuselage.
So I encountered a problem, where I was completely missing two 6x6 tiles that
were supposed to cover the wings. It's on step 435 in the manual.
To continue with the build, I dipped into my own stash of parts, and while
I didn't have any 6x6 pieces, I ended up substituting 6 pieces of 2x6
tiles. Not an issue for me, but for anyone else they would have to get the
missing pieces from LesDiy.
Time to finish constructing the wings and attach them to the rest of the plane.
Here's the completed transport plane with wings, tail rudders and propellors
mounted.
Features
Now let's look at some of the features of this C-2 Transport Plane!
Is it swooshable? Yup! Although it's not a lightweight, I can
still hold it in one hand and fly it around.
The hinged rudders can be adjusted.
The wing flaps can be lowered and raised.
Realistic looking landing gear.
The transport plane comes with two different propeller types, I think I
prefer the 8 vanes version.
Loading ramp in the rear opens and closes.
Finally, the wings can be folded back just like the real C-2 plane!
No minifigs come with the set, but I thought I would put some in front of
the C-2 Transport for size comparision. The plane is 1/35 scale
which is probably a bit smaller then minifig scale. I tried to put a
minifig into the cockpit but it was too small.
Final Thoughts
I was really surprised at the size of the C-2 Transport Plane, the box
that it came in wasn't that big but the assembled model was quite large.
From nose to tail, the plane measures about 21 inches long or 53.3 cm
long.
Wing tip to tip is about 28 in or about 71 cm wide.
As mentioned earlier the aircraft build is quite sturdy and has lots of
features. So regarding the stickers, it came on a single sheet but
none of the stickers were perforated, which means you have to cut them
out manually one by one. This would be rather tedious for
me, so I chose to leave them off, however if you are a fan of the US
military, you will probably want to apply the stickers to the model for
a more authentic display.
Aside from the missing two 6x6 tiles, everything else was intact.
In fact, I was left with quite a few spare bricks leftover from the
build. I would estimate about 200+ pieces or so. Fit
and finish of the bricks was very good as well as the overall brick
clutch. I would highly recommend the C-2 Military Transport
Plane to anyone who loves to detail oriented aviation or military
related brick sets.
