A Funwhole Gift with Purchase: F9028 Flower Truck Building Block Set

Hey brick fans!

Did you know about the new Funwhole flower truck building block set?  It was sent as a gift for anyone who bought 5 or more Funwhole sets in 2023.  This was a blog post promotion on Funwhole's website and instagram.

And now it's available again for free if you buy one of the Funwhole sets valued at $100 or more.  All of the details are on the Funwhole Instagram page:  https://www.instagram.com/p/C2zMOsru3fN/?img_index=1.

Funwhole sent me the Flower Truck so I could share my review of it with all of you!

My flower truck arrived but the box had some damage to it.

Unboxing the Set

Fortunately, the contents of the box were not affected.

The set includes a nice manual with colourful instructions.

There is a bag marked F for the included minifigure.  Something new to a Funwhole set is the extra head for the minifigure.  He's sporting a different face, so you get to choose which head you want.  There are also some new type brick parts that are specifically used with the light wires so that they don't get crimped.

There are a total of six bags of parts that make up the flower truck and they are all numbered to match the 3 stages in the instructions.

It wouldn't be a Funwhole set if there wasnt a light kit included.  In the lighting kit pouch, we get three strands of lights, a connector plate, a USB plug and a new small battery pack which I haven't seen Funwhole use before.

Here's a closer look at the micro battery pack.

According to the instructions, you will need to provide 3 LR44 type batteries to power the lights.  I used the USB plug instead and connected it to one of my existing funwhole battery boxes.

Don't forget to test all of the lights before you install them into the set.  Here's me testing the dashboard light.  If there are any issues with the lighting components, you can reach out to Funwhole and they will send you a replacement for free.

The Build

As you can see, the flower truck is easy to build the dashboard light, the headlights and taillights all worked fine.  There is space for the minifigure inside the cab but he has to stand up.  I didn't have any issues putting the rear fenders of the truck bed on, but have some people mentioned it is tricky in the Funwhole Facebook group.  There are a lot of flowers in the truck bed which require some attention to detail when installing.  I chose to leave out the provided hanging vines to make it a cleaner look.

Here's the completed truck!  I think the scale of the flower truck is a bit larger than minifigure scale, but not by much.

I think the Funwhole Flower truck set pairs nicely when displayed with the Funwhole Newsstand set.  If you haven't seen my review of that set, you can check it out here: https://bricktoyreviews.blogspot.com/2023/11/i-got-to-preview-new-lego-compatible.html

At the moment, the Flower Truck is not for sale yet on the Funwhole website, but you can get it as a free gift as mentioned earlier.  See the Funwhole instagram for all the details.
